Here's a full breakdown that I wrote up and have been posting for a while now: CFW WiFi streaming just doesn't compare to a direct hardware video output when you really get into it. Side note: CFW is incredibly simple if you follow the guide, but if you want the best possible capture/streaming capabilities out of a 3DS you're going to want a physical capture card installation.
There are still a number of people who do capture card installations, but there are also only two manufacturers/distributors of the actual capture cards.
